The Knesset House Committee, chaired by MK (Likud) Tzachi Hanegbi, selected its five delegates to serve on the body of 150 people who will elect the new Chief Rabbis of Israel.
Chosen to represent Knesset are MKs Yisrael Eichler (Yahadut Hatorah), Gila Gamliel (Likud), Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid), Miri Regev (Likud), and Yoni Chetboun (Bayit Yehudi). Coalition Chairman Yariv Levin was pleased that most of the Knesset representatives will be women.
Eichler objected the fact that he is the lone representative among the 52 MKs in opposition. He feels the opposition should have a larger representation on the voting body.
