Deputy Minister Ben-Dahan Visits ‘Shar Shechem’ Terror Victim


bdDeputy Minister of Religious Affairs Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan made a visit to Shaare Zedek Hospital to be mevaker cholim with the victim of the motzei Tisha B’Av 5773 stabbing attack at Shar Shechem.

Ben-Dahan visited with the 33-year-old chareidi victim accompanied by Dov Kalmanovich on Thursday, 11 Menachem Av 5773. Kalmanovich, an advocate for terror victims is a survivor himself. He was been badly burned and disfigured in a firebomb attack in Shomron during the so-called First Intifada.

The deputy minister heard details of the event, hearing how the terrorist made certain to twist the knife inside the victim’s body after stabbing him to maximize damage. “I already was saying Shema Yisrael” he explained, adding he mistakenly phoned police instead of MDA.

The deputy minister explained that he will not permit the current events to pass without addressing the abominations, citing the terror attack of a worshipper at an Old City gate and the vandalism the following day in the Machpelah, in which Ramadan worshipers tore out and defiled mezuzos in the holy site.
