Israel: New Traffic Regulation to Benefit Two-Wheeled Vehicles

mpIsrael Police Traffic Unit Commander Moshe Edri has decided that if traffic is backed up, two-wheeled vehicles may use the right side shoulder of a roadway, HaMevaser reports, quoting Walla News. This will significantly facilitate two-wheeled vehicles bypassing traffic snarls.

The commander warns that this is no way eliminates the ban on traveling on shoulders simply because it is more pleasant or faster. The new regulation only applies at a time when traffic is moving slowly, not when traffic flows as a regular pace and providing that by doing so the driver of the two-wheeled vehicle does not interfere with or place other drivers in danger. Once again, the new regulation only applies to a right shoulder of a roadway.
