WATCH: Gingrich Says Pelosi’s Impeachment Push ‘Makes No Sense At All’

Newt Gingrich, who oversaw the 1998 impeachment proceedings against then-President Bill Clinton, said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is making a mistake by announcing an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

When he and then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., carried out the proceedings against Clinton, they already had a damning independent counsel’s report against the Arkansas Democrat, Gingrich said Thursday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“There are huge differences, and from the standpoint of the Democrats, I think this is a really bad decision,” he said.

  1. rt, stop lying as usual. He didn’t lose anything due to the impeachment. He resigned his position over a personal wrongdoing, nothing at all to do with the impeachment. Clinton was impeached for an ACTUAL CRIME, that nobody disputes he committed, and that other people go to prison for. He got away with losing his law license, which he didn’t need any more anyway. He should have been charged, but there was too great a risk that a DC jury would acquit him despite the evidence, just like KKK murderers used to get acquitted in the South.
