Homeless Arab Man Accused Of Breaking Into Shul and Vehicles

The Jerusalem Magisterial Court extended the remand of a homeless Arab man who was caught breaking and entering into a Shul in the city and a car that was parked nearby.

At the beginning of the court hearing, the police showed the court video footage showing the man breaking into both the vehicle and the Shul. In one of the videos, the man was seen coming to Meah Shearim neighborhood and breaking into a minibus and stealing a watch.

In a different video from two days later, the man was caught on video again breaking into the main Breslov Shul in the neighborhood.

The owner of the car caught the man after he broke into his vehicle and asked him: “what did you do to my car?” The Arab man responded: “I was looking for a kippah because I wanted to go into the Shul because I was cold.”

The Arab man returned once again to the Shul and this time stole money from the Tzedaka box. He was caught in the act. During his interrogation by the police he denied performing all of the above misdemeanors.
