TEHILLIM – Longtime Rabbi At NYU Hospital Still Critical From Coronavirus

The longtime Rabbi at NYU Hospital in Manhattan, Rabbi Motty Katz, remains in critical condition from coronavirus. WhatsApp accounts known for spreading fake news without ever verifying anything have once again killed an innocent man by spreading rumors.

As of 2:20PM ET, his condition has unfortunately not changed since last night, and he continues to need Rachmei Shomayim.

Please say Tehillim for מרדכי דניאל בן שרה איטה.

  1. Does anybody know: Is this the Rabbi Katz who was the chaplain at N.Y.U. in 2009? He lived on the Lower East Side at the time.

  2. @ The Frumguy, I don’t know, but perhaps the whatsapp rumor mill circulated information that is making people think they do not need to daaven for Rabbi Katz. Rabbi Katz is a selfless person who helped me, and I’m sure many others, in his capacity as Chaplain at N.Y.U. hospital.

(There may be other people with the same or a similar name… who are NOT sick. However, THIS Rabbi Mordechai Katz, IS apparently in need of tefillos)

  3. Unfortunately someone started a rumor via WhatsApp that he was nifter which is not the case.

He needs all of our tefillos for a refuah shlemah!
