IAF Fighter Planes Took to the Skies on Shabbos Morning


iafIsrael Air Force F-16 fighter planes from the Chatzor and Ramat David bases and F-15s the Tel Nof base were ordered into the skies on Shabbos morning. According to Lebanese media reports, there was “intense fighter plane activity in the skies in the area”

Many Israelis realized something out of the ordinary was taking place for fighter planes are not generally seen in the air on Shabbos. There were reports of “many planes” in the air but no number was given.

Lebanese media states Israeli fighter planes operated at a low altitude over a number of areas in S. Lebanon.

The IDF Spokesman’s Office reports the planes were scrambled due to a false alarm, apparently the result of a flock of birds passing the area.
