Serious Indictment Expected Against R’ Metzger

metznAccording to a Channel 10 News report filed by Baruch Kra, police involved in the fraud investigation against former Chief Rabbi Yonah Metzger placed the rabbi and the state witness together in a room to permit a confrontation as investigators continue sorting out the facts in the case. Kra adds “We must remember the state witness is someone who was very very close to the former chief rabbi.”

Kra adds that it must be remembered that the state witness is not testifying because to save himself. The witness is quoted saying to the rabbi “You received millions as a result of me and then you tried to blame me for all of this.”

Kra explains that the money in question refers to cash which was raised in the United States and Europe, and the witness decided to turn against the rabbi after the latter tried to place the blame and criminal charges on him. He stressed the money in question was received in cash, large amounts of cash.

Kra adds Rabbi Metzger has been actively working to interfere with the investigation and tried paying off the former confidant turned state witness to take the blame in return for payment, using the case of Shula Zaken doing the same for former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as an example in his attempt to persuade him to agree. That seems to have backfired and his former close confidant is not the prosecution’s star witness.

And finally, Kra indicates that the way things appear today, a serious criminal indictment will be handed down against the former chief rabbi in the coming weeks.

  1. oiy, a scandal like this is really a chillul haShem. I hope for all of the frum yidden R. Metzger is found innocent; this is really bad for all shomer mitzvot that a big rav should really do such things.

  2. typical KRA! Israeli.
A nobody, is a judge lawyer, plaintiff etc. All in one. Fact, he wasn’t even found guilty yet. yet Kra is all over himself that he’s good, by trampling another yid. (he might be found guilty, #1 only hashems ruling is 1000 percent accurate! Every judge as already ruled wrong at least once. And in this case, they haven’t even ruled yet!
