2 Lakewood Girls Critically Injured in Serious Accident


Two Lakewood girls were hospitalized in critical condition after being extricated from a vehicle following a serious crash early this morning, TLS is reporting.

At about 12:33 AM this morning, a Lakewood woman, was driving south on Route 9 near the WaWa in Old Bridge when her vehicle was struck by a drunk driver, Old Bridge Police tell TLS.

The vehicle was severely damaged and required extrication units to respond to the scene.

Two girls, ages 16, were cut from the vehicle, police say.

The girls were transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in critical condition, police say. The driver, 33, was not hospitalized.

The drunk driver 34, from Manalapan, NJ, was not either hospitalized, and was charged with Assault By Auto, Driving Under the Influence and other charges, police say.

The accident is being investigated by Traffic and Safety Officer Bulin.

Names for Tehillim are not available.

    May they have a refuah shleima.

  4. Farhad Qamar-Yousufzai, 34, of Manalapan was charged with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated as well as other charges.
