NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman To Swear In de Blasio At Midnight On Live-Stream


Michael Bloomberg Is Sworn In For Third Term As New York City MayorFollowing tradition, Mayor-Elect Bill de Blasio will be officially sworn in during an intimate ceremony at 12:01 AM on January 1, 2014. The swearing in, officiated by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, will be at the Mayor-Elect’s home in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

While the event will be private, the proceedings will be streamed live on NYC.gov and still photographs will be posted to the Mayor’s Office Flickr page — continuing the Mayor-Elect’s commitment to ensuring his inauguration is an event that is accessible to all New Yorkers. In addition, a broadcast feed will be made available to media outlets — details below.

“We are excited to share this important moment with the people of New York,” said Mayor-Elect de Blasio. “From live-streaming the midnight swearing-in to reserving tickets for the general public to the ceremony at City Hall, Inauguration 2014 will be open and accessible to people from across the five boroughs.”

The Mayor-Elect will be joined by his family — future First Lady Chirlane McCray, Chiara de Blasio, and Dante de Blasio. He will be sworn in the following afternoon by President Bill Clinton in a public ceremony at City Hall at noon on January 1st.
