Following the fatal gas explosion in the Gilo neighborhood of Yerushalayim that claimed the lives of a couple and their infant, a Jerusalem court has released the Supergas Company technician from house arrest.
That explosion rocked Shabtai Hanegbi Street in Gilo, ripping apart the apartment building’s concrete walls and blowing out glass of cars parked tens of meters away. The blast claimed the lives of Avraham Tufan, his wife Galit and their son Yosef Chaim z”l.
The Jerusalem District Court accepted the appeal of the technician’s attorney, Yehuda Shoshan, overturning the Magistrate Court’s decision to remand him to house arrest. The technicians will be permitted to return to work on Tuesday, 27 Shevat.
One victim of the blast, Linda Schwartz, 40, continues fighting for her life in a Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital ICU.
