Shas party officials have sent a letter seeking to block the establishment of a shul by Rabbi Chaim Amsellem which is planned on a plot of land opposite the home of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L, on Kablan Street. According to the Yisrael Hayom report, the letter states the ownership of the plot of land by the Keter Chaim nonprofit headed by Rabbi Amsellem is illegal.
Rabbi Amsellem responds, explaining this is the way of Shas and he is not at all surprised. He adds the matter is in the hands of an attorney, concluding “There is a need for a shul and a shul will be established”.

Chacham Ovadia Yosef ZT”L declared Mr. Amsallem to be a rasha. He should be run out of town.
If NON FRUM would try to stop a shul from being build then we would say “anti Torha etc.”Hashem ,please send Meshiach NOW we are LOST !
Rav Amsallem is a Rav. You can’t get rid of his Semicha just because you don’t like him or Rav Ovadia called him names.
I was Zocheh meet Rav Ovadia, Baruch Hashem. But do you know what names he called some of YOUR rabbis? Did they also become “Mr’s”?

Rav Ovadia called his a rasha because he took positions kneged HaTorah and was mevaze talmide chachomim.
unfortunatley this article didnt explain the haskafic issues chaim Amsalem holds of. it isnt for naught that Harav ovadia removed his title rav. besides for that , if one reads through his hashkafic beliefs of yidishkeit , as I did, you will understand fully why any chareidi establishment would be misnaged to his actions.
Rav Amsallen has many supporters and mispallilim. Sounds to me like a political ploy to keep voters within the SHAS CAMP grounds!!
Looks like the latest trend in motzi shem ra is to declare anyone you disagree with to be a rasha. Deny their eidut, prevent them from opening a synagogue — anything to demonize.
