NY To Host Next Round Of P5+1 Iran Talks

The next round of international nuclear negotiations with Iran is expected to be held in New York next month, according to officials involved in the planning, Iran’s news agency reported Monday.

“Negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group on a definitive agreement will take place in New York at the end of Bahman,” the Iranian month that ends on February 19, IRNA quoted the unnamed source as saying.

The opening rounds were held in Geneva. According to the deal that went into effect last week, the parties agreed to a six-month deal that freezes key aspects of Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for easing some of the economic sanctions.

The officials insisted on anonymity because they weren’t authorized to identify themselves as confirming the location of the talks before a public announcement, the NY Times notes.
