Refael Yitzchak Gross Taken Off the ECMO Machine


smcIn a statement to the media, Schneider’s Chief of ICU Medicine Dr. Ovdei Dagan reported on Monday late afternoon, 26 Shevat, that Refael Yitzhak Gross has been taken of the ECMO machine. When asked “Is he out of life-threatening danger” Dr. Dagan responded “I would not be so quick with these terms. He still remains in serious condition and on assisted ventilations.” He also remains in a medically induced coma to assist his healing process but doctors are pleased that he could be removed from the ECMO, signaling his heart muscle has healed significantly.

Refael Yitzchak and his brother Chaim Michael remain in an intensive care unit, the result of inhalation injuries to their vital organs after an exterminator worked in their Jerusalem home.
