Unprecedented: The Entire Opposition to Boycott Major Knesset Voting this Week

bibnIn what is being reported as an unprecedented move, the entire Knesset opposition has decided to act as a unit, boycotting votes on three key bills this week. YWN-ISRAEL reported the Knesset this week will be voting on the new draft bill, governance bill and the referendum bill.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is well-aware the coalition lacks a majority on each and every one of the bills and as such, he is invoking coalition discipline. At present it is unclear if all of the coalition parties will comply with the prime minister’s directive as many coalition members are opposed to portions of the bills.

The opposition  is outraged over what it is calling “trampling of democracy” by the coalition, which is significantly limiting debate over the bills. As such, the 52-member coalition which includes the Labor, Yahadut Hatorah, Meretz and Arab parties will be holding an alternative Knesset session outside of the plenum and the media will be invited. This is being done in the hope of embarrassing and delegitimizing the prime minister and his coalition.

  1. As I previously wrote
BIBI u like Sharon שר״י have been good then turned into a רשע , may u merit to be ousted and your government and coalition be toppled as soon as this coming week, then maybe u will open up ur eyes and return to hashem and at least try to save your child from intermarrying and leave the torah and it’s learner a alone.

  2. What’s the difference didn’t that happen here with Obama care only democrats voted for it. No debate no time to read it. Just vote and we will discuss after.

  3. Clever. Left wing parties can avoid having to vote for the draft law without alienate the hareidim who may be future allies. The same holds true to the law to raise the threshold which alienates the Arabs, and to a lesser extent the hareidim and far left.

  4. “The coalition is outrage over what it is calling “trampling of democracy” by the coalition…”
You mean the Opposition is outraged….?

  5. I suppose if bayit yehuidi can make a pact with Lapid, then Yahadut haTorah can join with Meretz the sheretz, and the Arabs and the devil too.
