Court Sentences Tel Aviv Bus Bomber to 25 Years Imprisonment

The Tel Aviv District Court on Monday, 8 Adar II 5774 sentenced terrorist Muhmad Jafar Mafarjiya, 20, of Taibeh to 25 years imprisonment for placing a bomb on a Tel Aviv bus. The attack occurred during Operation Pillar of Defense, leaving 24 passengers injured.

An agreement was reached between the defense council and the opposition which set the maximum sentence to 25 years.

The terrorist is a student in the PA (Palestinian Authority) Birzeit University. On November 21, 2012 he placed a bomb under a seat on a Tel Aviv 142 bus.

An accomplice detonated the bomb later on using a cell phone when it passed the intersection of King Shaul Street near Weizman Street.
