Siena Poll: Cuomo Keeps Big Lead Over Astorino


coasA new poll of likely New York voters shows Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo continuing his lead over Republican challenger Rob Astorino, still largely unknown statewide.

The Siena College poll finds 60 percent would vote now for Cuomo and 23 percent for Astorino, the Westchester County executive.

The poll shows 61 percent have a favorable view of Cuomo, while 61 percent have no opinion of Astorino, down from 69 percent a month ago.

The telephone poll last week of 774 likely New York registered voters has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

For attorney general, 53 percent pick Democratic incumbent Eric Schneiderman with 31 percent choosing Republican John Cahill.

For comptroller, 57 percent pick incumbent Democrat Tom DiNapoli and 26 percent choose Republican Bob Antonacci, the Onondaga County comptroller.
