Israel Police: Feiglin is Banned from Har Habayis

feigOn Thursday 19 Kislev, Likud MK Moshe Feiglin planned to make his monthly visit to Har Habayis in line with his custom of the past 15 years. Israel Police has informed the deputy speaker that he will not be permitted onto the site on Thursday.

Feiglin is furious over the decision. “I was informed this morning that police will not permit me to visit Har Habayis tomorrow” he told the media on Wednesday 18 Kislev.

He explained that in his view, the reality is that Israel Police invites additional attacks by its decision, attacks including the massacre in the Har Nof shul and attempted assassination of Rabbi Yehuda Glick and the many vehicular attacks and stabbing attacks. Feiglin explained that the Muslims have used terror to distance the Jews from Har Habayis so they understand that the acts of terror pay off.

Police fear that Feiglin’s presence on Har Habayis will spark renewed Islamic violence. Feiglin has also been assigned a bodyguard by Knesset security officials due to his high profile efforts to permit Jews to visit Har Habayis without restrictions.

Gedolei HaPoskim throughout the ages including Gedolei Hador Shlita today have ruled it is forbidden to visit Har Habayis, even if one does so in line with Halacha including tevila. This is also the ruling of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

  1. I thought that the police enforce the law that the law makers make, not that the police determine what is and what isn’t legal.

I hope that Feiglin stands up to such un-democratic actions.
