Labor party leader Yitzchak Herzog and his coalition partner Tzipi Livni on Sunday night 1 Rosh Chodesh Teves lit Chanukah candles at the Kosel. Also present was Kosel Rav Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita and Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Dovid Lau Shlita.
Current polls show that the two running on a joint ticket may receive more votes than the Likud, and therefore, may be tapped for the presidential mandate and given the first opportunity to assemble a coalition government. However, the current makeup of the political parties is such that it appears unlikely that they would succeed in forming a coalition government.
