Israel: Terrorists Using Paint to Cause Vehicular Accidents

2While a bottle of paint appears innocent, when thrown at the windshield of a moving bus it is quite another story.

Terrorists are reverting back to a weapon used in the so-called First Intifada, back in the late 1980s. Paint is hurled at a moving bus in the hope of blinding the driver and causing an accident. This was the case concerning a 143 bus that was traveling from Jerusalem to Tel Tzion in Shomron.

B’chasdei Hashem the driver immediately determined it was paint on his windshield and he did not turn on the wipers. Doing so would have blinded him entirely, which is usually what occurs since the driver has milliseconds to assess the situation and respond.

The driver managed to bring the bus to a halt without an accident. The IDF responded and tried to find the youths (young terrorists) who hurled the pain.

In another attack, a six-year-old Arab boy hurled rocks at the Jerusalem light rail in the Shuafat area earlier in the week. There was another rock attack against the light rail shortly after noon on Monday, 3 Nissan. Police detained the child and summoned his parents. A complaint was filed with social services.

The Arabs commonly use minors since they are aware even if apprehended, the punishment will not be severe. Sadly for a victim, the damage is the same regardless of the age of the terrorist hurling the stones.

  1. It should pass legal muster to legislate that parents will be punished for these kinds of crimes perpetrated by a minor. The prospect of jail time and/or a hefty fine may motivate a little restraint of the little kiddie-poos…
