MK Porush Meets with the Boyaner Rebbe after Years of Disconnect

boyaAfter not communicating for seven years, MK Meir Porush on Tuesday 11 Nissan visited the Boyaner Rebbe Shlita. Porush, who heads the Shlomei Emunim faction, met in the rebbe’s home, a meeting that some are calling historic. Prior to the disagreement, Porush was a “ben bayis” in the Boyaner Court and known to be very close to the rebbe, who is a member of the Agudas Yisrael Torah Council.

The split between the two was a result of the Betar Illit elections seven years ago. As is known, the rebbe backed the incumbent, Yitzchak Pindrus, while Porush ran his own candidate, who won. Efforts were made by askanim over the years to make shalom between the Porush family and the Boyaner Court, which until recently, failed.

  1. Very interesting. Who agreed to meet who? Porush was looking for a way back into the “American Rebbes” scene after his closest ally there the Bostoner of Har Nof abandoned Aguda and threw his weight behind Eli Yishai in the last Israeli elections.

  2. B”H this rapprochement has finally worked. I have not been able to sleep nights ever since the split. I’m off for a good night’s sleep now that I know the split has been repaired!

  3. who cares? i don”t care a hoot about porush & i dont think the boyanners care about him either. that leaves the only one who cares is: Porush himself! he needs it for slimy politics. let him go back where he came from
