Elazar Stern Explains Israel’s Threat from Within

sternThe Yesh Atid faction in Knesset on Wednesday, 18 Elul, held a press event to announce MK Rabbi Shai Piron is leaving Knesset. He is replaced by former The Movement MK, Elazar Stern, who in the 19th Knesset was a leading activist to liberalize state religious services.

It is explained that Piron will return to the education field, accepting a prominent position in the private sector.

Not surprisingly, Stern had what to say during the media event. He explained he views himself as a representative of the dati leumi community, warning one who is only concerned with the Iranian threat fails to see the threat from within. He warned that society cannot continue to only recognize persons with a yarmulke and tzitzis as Jews. He warns there must be a Jewish component to the Iranian threat “or there will be nothing left to threaten”. Stern stated the large aliyah from the former USSR saved Israel and now the state must bring these people closer.

Regarding the disdain felt for the Yesh Atid party by the chareidi tzibur, Stern added “I think the chareidim have to say Hallel over what Yesh Atid accomplished in the last administration”, adding that regarding his political aspirations, Yesh Atid fulfills his aspirations. He insists that the actions of Yesh Atid in the last Knesset brings Israeli society closer, stating “We are not against anyone, just in favor”.

  1. This guy is soooooo confused. He thinks that Reform and Conservative practices are Jewish when in fact they’re not Jewish practices at all. The phonies who lead these breakaway movements try to convince their followers who may be Jewish that their deviant practices are Jewish. They’re not. They’re changed and rearranged at their annual meeting of deviant and perverted (toaevah) “leaders”. What a joke.
