PA (Palestinian Authority) Chairman Abbas (Abu Mazen) denies rumors that his PA is on the verge of collapse. One of the scenarios discussed is Abu Mazen, now over 80, dying and the battle to assume control would lead to chaos and anarchy.

YWN-ISRAEL recently reported that the Security Cabinet has recently convened on two occasions and one of the main matters on the agenda is the likely collapse of the PA. He released a statement “Don’t even dream of the PA collapsing”, as he tries to allay fears of instability.

In a public address, Abu Mazen explained the PA was built as a result of the signing of the 1993 Oslo Agreement and it is a strong entity that is not going collapse despite rumors to the contrary.
