PHOTOS: B’H No Injuries In Freak Accident Just before Shabbos Outside Adass Yisroel Shul In Melbourne Australia

On Friday a drunk driver lost control of his vehicle and drove at high speed from the street corner along the sidewalk hitting the Adass Yisroel Shul fence and then damaging several cars before coming to a halt right in front of the Shul doors. It happened at 5:36PM – just 15 minutes before Shabbos, when quite a few people were already in Shul and many others were on the way.

The driver was treated for shock by the ambulance, and after a couple of hours they towed the damaged vehicle.

B”H at the moment of the accident no one was in the car’s path – the security guard who was patrolling that very sidewalk had just turned the corner, and one person had just entered the Shul from those doors.

One shudders to think what could’ve happened if the incident had taken place just half an hour later.

  1. Hashem runs the world. There are no “freak accidents” or accidents for that matter. I heard Rav Don Segal object to referring to crashes as accidents since ain od milvado!
