Hundreds of Israeli farmers traveled from northern areas to protest at the government complex in Jerusalem. They caused traffic snarls on Highway 6 as they headed south.
Protestors blasted government agricultural policies, expressing harsh criticism of Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, who they feel is not doing what he should to assist them as many farmers can no longer make a living.
The farmers insist if the government does not step in and implement measures to save local farmers they will collapse and the consequences on the local economy will be significant.
