Arab And Jewish Cooperation Leading To Improved EMS Response In The Negev And Galil


1Interior Minister and Minister of the Development of the Periphery, Negev & Galill Aryeh Deri together with United Hatzalah and Alumni of the Waxner Foundation for the Propagation of Excellence in the Public Sector inaugurated a special project that will result in a lessening of emergency medical response time in the Negev and Galil.

Thanks to the help of Minister Deri and his office tens of EMTs are providing emergency medical response in those areas. An additional 330, both Jewish and Arab EMTs are set to begin training to provide faster medical response to these peripheral regions.

The ceremony was held on Tuesday evening 20 Kislev at the regional council headquarters of Shibli/Um El-Ganim.

As part of the ceremony, recently graduated EMTs, both Jewish and Arab were presented with medical kits by United Hatzalah and a new joint course will be inaugurated aimed at training new EMTs to give emergency medical response in the Galilee and Negev regions.

Speakers included Minister Deri, the CEO of United Hatzalah Moshe Teitelbaum, Mayor of Shibli/Um-El Ganim Naim Shibli, Ruth Wassermann Landa for the Waxner Foundation, and Dr. Efrat Baron Harlech the Deputy Director of Schneider Children’s Hospital.
