The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at the Shoprite Plaza in Monticello, YWN has learned.

Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Thompson Square Mall at about 10 minutes after Midnight this morning (Tuesday 7/6/10). A male shopper had just left Shoprite and was walking to his car in the parking lot when he was accosted by 2 black males who brandished a handgun. The victim fought off the attackers, who still managed to take off with the victim’s wallet. The suspects fled in a mid 1990’s blue pickup truck. No further description is available.
