US President Barack Obama warned the Palestinians of “repercussions” if they pushed for a United Nations Security Council vote against Jewish settlements, a Palestinian official said Friday.
“President Obama threatened on Thursday night to take measures against the Palestinian Authority if it insists on going to the Security Council to condemn Israeli settlement activity, and demand that it be stopped,” the senior Palestinian official told AFP.
Obama’s remarks came during an hour-long telephone conversation with Abbas late Thursday, in which the US leader tried to dissuade Abbas from supporting a UN Security Council vote due to take place later Friday.
During the call, Obama told Abbas: “There will be repercussions for Palestinian-American relations if you continue your attempts to go to the Security Council and ignore our requests in this matter, especially as we suggested other alternatives.”
However, it appears that the Palestinians were unimpressed with President Obama’s threats. On Friday, a spokesman for Abbas said that the Palestinian leader rejected the American request to compromise on its UN proposal. Earlier, the Palestinian Authority sent out a clear message to Washington – calling on the US to allow the vote to go ahead.

I read an article where Obama himself was going to “rebuke” Israel in the UN. So maybe Obama doesnt want another arab to have the privilege; he wants to do it himself.
Abbas is no fool. He just KNOWS that Obama WILL NEVER make good on his threats. Those of you who remember the Vietnam war will remember the term “Paper Tiger”. Well it’s back…another version Obama has made the world realize that the NEW USA is just that…A PAPER TIGER.

Obama must have gone into the white house garden to pick up some onions. However I don’t believe this story to begin with. Its probably just the regime talking out of both sides of their mouth.

ynet is publishing a fraudulent story.
They often do this.
The real story is that an Arab unnamed source quoted in an Arab newspaper claims this. That is quite different than what the Ynet news is communicating which is that this is somehow a report as credible as though it were sourced in the NY Times or Bob Woodward
It is very doubtful that Obama would actually threaten any Arabs. More likely that our dear president bowed – but not as low as expected – to some Arab despot. Arabs were so shocked by the chutzpa, that they interpreted it as a threat. In reality, Obama did want to bow lower, but could not – due to a chronic back ache developed from too much bowing.
