Two Kings County Hospital Employees Arrested In Connection With 2008 Emergency Room Death

Two hospital employees are facing charges in connection with the 2008 death of a Brooklyn woman whose family claims she died while waiting 24 hours in a hospital emergency room for treatment.

Surveillance video shows Esmin Green collapsing onto the floor of the psychiatric emergency room at King’s County Hospital.

No one, including hospital staffers, came to her aid.

An attorney for nursing aide Easton Royal says his client has been arraigned on charges reported in the Daily News as reckless endangerment and falsifying business records. She was released without bail.

The paper says another nurse pleaded guilty to similar charges last month.

Sources say three people in total are involved.

The death made national headlines and prompted the hospital to institute a package of reforms.
