NYPD Release Photo Of Suspect In Drug Store Robberies – Including J Drugs II

The New York Police Department believes they’ve got a “drugstore cowboy” on their hands.

They’ve released the description of a man they believe is behind a series of robberies. According to the NYPD, the suspect is 6’1″, 220 pounds, white and wears a black Northface jacket.

Police believe he knocked over four Brooklyn pharmacies for drugs. They say the man has the same “m.o.” each time. The man walks into the drugstores, displays a gun and demands pain meds from the clerk at the front desk.

So far, none of the clerks have been injured.

On March 17th, FlatbushScoop.com reported that “J Drugs II” was robbed in Flatbush, and that detectives had suspected it was the same suspect in a previous robbery.

The four incidents took place March 3, March 17, April 1 and April 11. Three of the robberies took place in broad daylight, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. One of the robberies took place at 5:50 p.m.

Anyone with any information about the robberies is asked to call 1-877-577-TIPS (8477). You can also provide tips to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text them to CRIMES (274637), and then enter TIP577.

  1. Are the headline writers at YWN sleeping on the job? The headline says the police have released a photo of a suspect, but the article says only that the police have released a description of the suspect.

The YWN photo editor may be asleep as well. The article describes the suspect as wearing a black jacket, weighing 220 pounds and being 6’1″ tall. The photo accompanying this article shows a man in a green jacket who is too thin to weigh 220 lbs. unless he is about 6’5″.

  2. @nfgo3: If you have a complaint, please word it nicely. YWN has been working hard to keep us up to date with news, at no cost to you. If you think they have room for improvement, address them with respect when requesting it.
In response to your complaints, the attached picture seems to be the one released. The coloring can be black or green. If they say its black, then just assume its black! And truthfully, the coat can skew a person’s weight… why are you assuming everyone is in the wrong here?
