NYPD On The Hunt For Taxi Driver In Alleged Williamsburg ‘Abduction’


The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a taxi driver wanted for “abduction”.

The suspect, described as a male between 40 and 45 years old, is approximately 5-foot-8 and was last seen wearing a red and orange turban.

Police said the alleged attack happened on May 6 at around 6 a.m. in the vicinity of Rodney Street and South 1st Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. A 26-year-old woman who was a passenger in a yellow cab was abducted at knifepoint by the driver of the cab. The suspect also removed the victim’s cell phone and $20 in cash before fleeing the location. The victim went to a local hospital where she was treated for lacerations to her hands and face, police said.

  1. I just heard this on the news. It was not an abduction. She hailed a cab outside a club,she was visibly drunk and the cabbie took advantage of her situation.

  2. Yellow cabs are all tracked with GPS, so I don’t understand the difficulty in locating this cab. I bet though there is more to the story, the nature of which is inappropriate for this site.
