MK Ben-Ari: Tel Aviv U. On ‘Occupied Land’

MK (Ichud HaLeumi) Dr. Michael Ben-Ari headed a delegation of right-wingers that visited Tel Aviv University, a facility of higher education synonymous with Israel’s political left-wing. Ben-Ari explained the left-wing refers to residents of communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron as “settlers” and “people living on occupied land”. He pointed out that the same holds true for Tel Aviv University, explaining prior to the establishment of the university; the Arab village headed by Sheikh Mounis was located on the land.

Wearing tee-shirts “Solidarity with Kfar Mounis”, Ben-Ari, Baruch Marzel and other activists stopped students, seeking explain their message, driving home the point “If we are settlers, then so are you!” They explained the residents of Mounis were ousted in 1948, so in actuality, the bastion of left-wing higher education is on “occupied land”.

  1. What’s the hiddush? From the Muslim perspective, any Israeli communities founded or expanded since 1917 (when the Muslims lost control of Eretz Yisrael for the first time is 700 years) is built on occupied territory. Anyone who doesn’t realize that is being quite naive.
