Terrorist Who Injured Ayalah Shapira Sentenced To 18 Years In Prison

The terrorists who perpetrated the attack that left Ayalah Shapira with burns over 50% of her body was sentenced to 18 years in prison by an IDF court on Tuesday, 10 Tammuz. The attack took place in December 2014.

Shapira, who was 11-years-old at the time, was traveling with her dad near their Shomron home in Matan. Her father, Avner, was injured far less seriously in the attack.

The terrorist was arrested the day of the attack. His associate was convicted and sentenced last summer to 14 years in prison.

Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan responded to the sentence. “The punishment is ridiculous and insulting. This terrorist should spend the rest of his life behind bars. We hope that at the very least, he will not be released early in a prisoner deal and that his prison terms should not be that of a student in university. I would like to strengthen Ayalah and her family along with the entire community of Yishuv Matan in the Shomron”.

  1. it is a shame he got off so lightly. He will be released early with a stupid Israeli government trade but poor Ayala is stuck with a totally disfigured face for life.

I really believe that Israel should have a death penalty for terrorists.
