A bill has been introduced by Shas MK Michael Michaeli seeking to have product production and expiration dates include the Hebrew date.

Michaeli explains many consumers, especially children, are unfamiliar with the Gregorian dates and therefore, it is essential to include the Hebrew date as well.

Back in 2013, MK Meir Porush introduced a similar bill, which was not passed. One of the reasons it was rejected was at the time, four years ago, it was a heavy burden on manufacturers and importers. Michaeli however feels today, things are different and today, the bill has more support than in the past.

  1. Stupidity.
Just teach your kids about how the rest of the world works.
Unless the real motivation behind this bill is to castrate any ability to understand or relate to how the rest of the world works, in the name of some perverted hashkafa…
