On Sunday night, the eve of 29 Menachem Av, hundreds of mispallalim visited the kever of Yehoshua Bin Nun, located in the PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied village of Kifl Haris, near Ariel in the Shomron.
Entrance to and from the tziyun is made possible once every few months, coordinated and accompanied by the army and the security forces. The entrance was secured by the soldiers of the Duchifat Battalion of the Kfir Brigade, which carry out operational operations in the Ephraim region, in cooperation with the Border Police and the Israel Police.
The brigade commander of the regional division Ephraim, Maj. Ilan Meranditz, adds, “Several times a year, the brigade enables the security guards to enter the tomb in order to allow the prayers to take place.” He said that “the entrances to the village are centralized and allow orderly coordination with the brigade in order to maintain order in the area and ensure the safety of the worshipers.
