Israel Police have detained six persons in the ongoing probe into alleged corruption involving the IDF Navys purchase of new submarines from Germany. The suspects were questioned previously in the case, including former Navy Admiral Eliezer Merom and a senior official in the Prime Ministers Bureau.
This case involves allegations of bribery surrounding the deal for submarines worth over $1 billion from the German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp. The arrests follow a deal and debriefing of Miki Ganor, who negotiated the submarine deal with ThyssenKrupp, now agreeing to become a state witness.
Another chief suspect in the case is personal attorney to PM Netanyahu, Mr. David Shimron.
