Agreement Reached Regarding Moving Sanhedrin Talmid Torah


In the course of the morning discussion on the Jerusalem Allocation Committee, the allocation of the area of ​​the Talmud Torah Sanhedrin was raised, the building cited to alleviate the critical lack of space for the Old Beis Yaakov seminar in Jerusalem.

Over the course of the past year, the Beis Yaakov, which is in dire need of additional room, has been working to take over the talmid torah building, with was used by Sanhedrin Talmid Torah for many years.

The city then reached agreement with the PTA and the school’s administration, that it would move to another suitable location.

After the intervention of Deputy Jerusalem Mayor Tzvika Cohen of Shas, who is responsible for the city’s chareidi education portfolio, along with members of the Jerusalem city council, the ousting of the school was prevented at the beginning of the new school year as was planned, to a venue at the end of the Bayit Vegan neighborhood. The matter has also been brought before the High Court of Justice.

At present, all sides involved have reached agreement and the talmid torah will move to a “suitable venue” to permit the additional space to be used by the Beis Yaakov.
