At approximately 3:00pm on 17 Adar 5771 (March 23, 2011), an explosion took place near a number 74 bus outside Binyanei Ha�uma in Jerusalem. The bomb was placed in a bag near a public phone near the bus stop. As a result of the powerful blast, Jean Gardner HY�D, 55, an English tourist who was studying at Hebrew University was killed and many others were injured, about fifty persons. Among them was Hodayah Nechama Assulin HY�D, 14, from Mevo Choron. She was waiting for a bus and sustained serious injuries.
She was in a coma since this blast and was cared for with love and affection, with mesirus nefesh. During the past two weeks her condition worsened, and she was niftar on Wednesday morning 4 Kislev at 2:00am in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
The levaya began on Wednesday at 1:30pm from the main shul in her home community. The family will be sitting shiva in Mevo Choron.
