Due to plans to fire over 3,000 employees by the management of Teva in Israel, the Histadrut national labor federation announced last week that it was shutting down the country on Sunday, 29 Kislev, from 8:00am-12:00pm in a showing of solidarity with Teva employees.

So what happened last night? The Jerusalem garbage collectors were out working at 1am. Neat solution. We strike to show our solidarity with the poor Teva workers and get paid three times our regular salary for working during the night on a motzei Shabbos.
