(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

The commander of the Coast District, Deputy Commissioner Peretz Amar, assessed the situation at the police station in Akko following the suspected vehicular ramming attack on Sunday, 17 Adar.

According to the preliminary findings, it appears the driver, an Arab with an Israeli identity card, not a resident of the city, tried running people over in a number of areas, with an emphasis on deliberately trampling uniformed police and soldiers.

The investigation continues.

In the video, Deputy Commissioner Peretz Amar explains he is at the site of the attack and different professionals are working the scene. He adds since 11:30AM there were reports of several attempts of striking security forces with a vehicle and this attacker was stopped when he was shot while perpetrating the attack.

The video was taken during the early stage of the attack, and Amar has since determined the ramming incident was a terrorist attack. This is not indicated in the video.

  1. Any cost to offering this animal medical treatment should be deducted from monies that Israel collects for PA. He should not be allowed visitors, and anything besides regular interventions should not be made available to him. If he requires any surgery, transfer him to a Palestinian hospital, and let him utilize their services. No one in Israel wants him alive, and keeping him alive should definitely not be at our expense.
