Gafne: Shas Always Does Better than Polls Show

During a session of the Knesset Finance Committee on Monday, 22 Iyar, MK Ahmed Tibi saw committee chairman, MK Moshe Gafne, was in a good mood. He asked him, “So tell me, will there be elections in this Knesset session or will you work out the Override Clause or will be the downfall?” Gafne responded, explaining he attended a meeting of heads of coalition parties and he did not get the impression that elections are on the agenda.

Tibi was addressing the bill that would permit the Knesset to override the High Court of Justice when it disqualifies Knesset legislation, and the fact that it is postponed time and time again.

Tibi continued, “Who is stronger, Bennet or Netanyahu?” MK (Yisrael Beitenu) Oded Forer interjected, “Lieberman”, bringing a smile and laughter to Tibi’s face.

Tibi then began teasing, based on recent polls, asking if Yisrael Beitenu will pass the minimum threshold to enter Knesset. Tibi added, “I don’t even want to talk about Shas. I don’t want to hurt anyone”.

Gafne responded, to the surprise of some, explaining that Shas is hanging on the minimum threshold according to polls, adding the truth is the party already receives more in reality than the polls show.
