Defense Minister Gives the Word to Refurbish Public Shelters in Kiryat Shmona


Under the guidance of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the Homefront Command, the National Emergency Agency and the Ministry of Defense will invest more than NIS 6.5 million in renovating and upgrading public shelters in Kiryat Shmona. The works have begun to include renovating shelters, purchasing and installing air conditioners in shelters, purchasing mobile shelters, fortifying a pharmacy in the city, and more.

Defense Minister Lieberman: “The protection work we will be carrying out in the coming months, in Kiryat Shmona and in dozens of communities in the north of the country, is possible through a special budget of NIS 150 million, which we agreed with the Ministry of Finance within the framework of the 2018 budget. To provide a complete solution for the northern communities, in the face of the security challenges. We will continue to insist on our determined policy in the north, but we will also invest in fortification.”
