Kite Bombs Set Off 11 Fires in Gaza Periphery

11 fires ignited in the Gaza periphery in the past 24 hours as a result of kite bombs sent over the border fence by terrorists in Gaza. The blazes were combated by Israel’s Fire and Rescue Department and threatened towns in the area of the Kisufim and Be’eri forests.

Fire teams from Keren Kayemet L’Yisrael have joined in the fight against the blazes near Gaza over the recent weeks. In spite of a calming of violent tensions and missile attacks, the kite bombs have not ceased since they picked up steam a few weeks ago. The goals of Hamas in lighting these bombs is to cause damage to Israel as well as harming its citizens.
