Interior Minister Deri Prevents An American-Jewish BDS Activist From Entering Israel

Ariel Eliz Gold, a well known activist for boycotts against Israel, was denied entry to the country upon arrival on Sunday. Gold, who is Jewish, is co-director of CODEPINK.

The Population and Immigration Authority, under the instructions of Minister of the Interior Aryeh Deri and at the recommendation of Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan, prevented the entry of the activist at Ben-Gurion International Airport.

Gold, who is in her 40’s, arrived in Israel a few months ago as a tourist, and during her stay it became clear that she was a well-known activist who was leading boycotts against Israel. Upon her departure from Israel, she was provided with a letter explaining to her that her next entry would be made only subject to the arrangement of arrival in advance.

Recently, she said that she was coming to Israel to study Judaism at the Hebrew University. Following her arrival at Ben-Gurion Airport, she was questioned as to the purpose of her arrival. After the purpose of her visit was clarified, it was decided to prevent her from entering the country by Minister Deri, which prevented her from entering Israel in accordance with his authority under the law.

Deri explained, “I am again using my authority to prevent the entry into Israel of a woman who came to act against Israel and call for its boycott. The fact that this is a Jew who tried to exploit this fact is even more damaging to the country. Those boycott activists must understand that the rules of the game have changed, and we will no longer be allowed to enter the country to harm the state and its residents.”

Minister Gilad Erdan said “whoever works consistently for a boycott against Israel will not enter here.”

  1. Good for him. Standing with that terrorist sarsour should be telling enough as to how she views her fellow jews. Feh.

  2. Ariel Eliz Gold should try publicly expressing her political opinions on the streets of Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and in Gaza. She will likely be imprisoned, publicly hanged, or tortured. Also, because she is an activist for “freedoms” of LGBT communities or for women driving and attaining an education, she should parade these ” political rights” in Iran. When (If!) she returns from those destinations, she should be given access to Israel.
