Israel: Physicians Who Sold False ‘Disability’ Documentation In Custody


In the morning hours of Thursday, 26 Tammuz, two suspects were detained for questioning by Israel Police and two others were detained on suspicion of involvement in bribery, fraud and breach of trust, fraud, and other offenses. Among those arrested is a senior public health official, a doctor in the health system, and another doctor.

This is an investigation was conducted by the Israel Police and the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) and accompanied by the Northern District Attorney’s Office. According to the suspicions, the suspects allegedly received benefits, each one according to his effort and share, and fraudulently received money from the state by selling documents attesting to persons being disabled to permit them to claim disability funds from the state.

The suspects were detained for questioning and arraigned in the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate Court.
