Israel Police Announce the Following Street Closures Ahead of Monday’s Bnei Brak Peleg Protest


Israel Police Dan district officials on Monday announced the following street closures ahead of the planned Peleg faction protest, set to begin at 4:00PM. The protest surrounds the arrest of talmid Nissan Raada by military police, a ben Torah affiliated with the Peleg Yerushalmi.

The Peleg protest organizers are calling for a “stormy” protest, and considering it is bein hazmanim, the turnout should be quite strong.

Police Alert distributed to the media:
Traffic congestion is to be expected in Bnei Brak. The police are preparing for a protest, which is scheduled to take place today, Monday, 25 Menachem Av, beginning at 4:00PM.

Streets that will be impacted include:
• Jabotinsky Street from Ben Gurion to the east.
• The Yetzira Road in Petach Tikva to the west.
• Traffic exiting to Jabotinsky Street from the direction of Bnei Brak will be directed westwards.
• Chalutzim Street is expected to be closed to vehicular traffic from Abarbanel Street to Jabotinsky.

All of Route 4 will be shut to vehicles.
• Vehicles will be rerouted to Aluf Sadei from south to north and the 471 Interchange.
• Route 4 northbound will be closed from Morasha Junction.

It is recommended that motorists keep up-to-date with the Police Traffic Information Center by dialing 110, and use the navigation application for alternative routes.

Public transportation passengers must be updated in accordance with bus companies and their information centers.

The police will be deployed in the main arteries and will direct traffic and minimize traffic backups as much as possible.

The Israel Police is prepared for the protest and will act to ensure the safety and security of the participants and, no less important, ensure that the protest does not unduly harm the routine of the general public.

The Israel Police will not prevent the holding of the protest out of a desire to allow the freedom of speech and protest of any citizen who so desires. At the same time, we will not allow any disturbance of the peace and will act resolutely against violence of any kind.

  1. What i dont get is, why would the local municipalities give them a permit to demonstrate?
    And if they dont give them a permit , deal with them like any country with laws?
    This would never happen in any civilized country with such frequency of breaking laws everyother day where cities have to shut down to accommodate these hudlums
