SHOCK VIDEO: Israel Police Officer Places Unarmed Chareidi Man in Chokehold, In Front of Wife & Children

The Chareidi man in the attached video was driving his vehicle in Ramot on Thursday, when Police ordered him to stop. According to a statement by Police, the man had a child not properly restrained in a car seat.

When Police asked the man for his license, the man refused, and instead began arguing with the officer. The man was warned that he would be placed under arrest if he did not comply.

Eventually, the officer grabbed the man and pulled him out of the vehicle, placing him into a chokehold and violently fighting the man – while his wife and children watched in horror.

Police also added in their statement that while the driver was wrong for not complying with the officer, the violent reaction of the officer against an unarmed man went too far and he is now under investigation.

  1. Actually what do you think happens right here in the USA. If a police officer asks for your license & you refuse you’re going to get arrested. And if you physically fight off the officer during that attempted restraint of you. Well then you’re gonna have your head busted here too. Nothing to do with “evil zionists”.

  2. * Israel Police to Motti * * Stieglitz on Twitter *
The shocking documentation: The person documented in the video risked the lives of his young children when he drove the car while they were not wearing their seat and did not sit on safety chairs as required by law. While the policeman ordered him to stop for inspection, the suspect chose not to obey the law and tried to avoid delay.

  3. Shocking and misleading headline, poor choice Yeshiva World. Any citizen who is asked by the police to produce his TZ and refuses or is noncompliant to a police office is asking for trouble. In any other country he would have been arrested on the spot for driving with children in an unsafe manner, and with good reason!! . Fighting with the police could have gotten him shot as well. Rewatch the video and imagine an arab citizen responding the way the so-called Chareidi did!! Wouldnt YOU want the police to show force??
As a resident of Ramot I can tell you all how horrified I am to see the many seemingly Chareidi families drive with children not buckled in or in car seats. Often I see a child or baby sitting on the fathers lap while he is driving!! I have learned that they dont want me to tell them that this is dangerous behavior and will respond with anger and threats.. I should mention that I am a deeply religious woman, with hair covering and tzanuah dress, if I say anything it is done politely and calmly as a suggestion and not criticism, and it is under AL taamod al dam rayechah, and Ve Nishmartem).
I hope the Rabbeim come out with clear messages that it is wrong to drive as he did, and respect our police officers when stopped, dina d’malchuta dina!!

  4. To the above posters, who for some reason can’t imagine that police brutality is ever leveled unfairly at chareidim and have this crazy inability to process the fact that the cops treat chareidim like dogs- how thick can you be trying to justify the actions of this cop when the cops themselves say he reacted disproportionately? Are you seriously so full of hatred for another frum jew that you’d justify a cops actions when his own people say he was out of order?? What a bunch of morons and sonei yisroel.

  5. Many Israelis , chareidim included, think that obeying law enforcement is optional.
The Torah teaches that the shotrim must have batons and whips to beat people into submision to the courts decision(rashi to Devarim 16:18).
Screaming ” but my kids are in the car”
only demonstrates beyond any doubt that this father has dilapitated judgement and should have his parenting liscence REVOKED.
The officer needs more training in suspect takedown and control, that was his primary failure. Handcuffs on the ground wont help him, they dont carry two sets here.

  6. cognitive dissonance: the driver was wrong for not cooperating, but the officer (if he really is one. I think he may be the equivalent of an auxiliary police officer) should lose his badge and permit to carry a firearm.

  7. Why do you need to upload videos in youtube about Israel Police Officer Places Unarmed Chareidi Man in Chokehold, In Front of Wife & Children. Do you not think that is enough the bad campaign that the media as CNN, etc make about us, so that you come to give them more reasons? What are you looking to be more famous for those videos, putting the people in a bad impression on the world? and still put YESHIVA NEWS? In which yeshiva did you learn that? and by the way I am religious, but I have something that you lack, love and respect for my people, that maybe is not yours

  8. This Chareidi man surely dresses the part but in today’s day in age dressing in the costume is not enough for Hashem and officers. Especially during the retrospective month on Elul one must analyze him/herself that he/she is dressed tzniously and appropriately, but it only begins there. If one’s actions are not of humbleness, gemilus chassadim, appropriate speech and properly measured shmiras einayim then the external outfit is not much different than a Purim costume. For police and IDF officers who face dangers on a daily basis, one can be disguising to be dressed as a Jew, Rav, Chareidi- but R’L really be an Arab terrorist behind the mask. When an officer pulls you over, you obey/communicate with respect and professionalism (including no nivel peh)- otherwise you are just wearing a yeshivish costume causing a chillul Hashem and a danger for your family and the officers.

  9. Toi- this counterfit chareidi acted like a dog in every way. Are you demanding that we should be ok with that?
I am not ok with him or any misguided ” lamdonim” who defend such repulsive behavior in the perverted name of “ahavas yisrael”
The officer was defending the public from a public threat and defending the safety of the innocent children in the car. He should get a promotion, despite his faulty tactics.

  10. @anonymous Jew and @”chareidi amiti” (highly doubt it)- Learn how to read and process the actual comment. Morons. I never excused his behavior, I’m simply pointing out that the cops themselves are investigating the officer’s reaction, so it’s kind of ridiculous for the posters here to justify it. The officer was out of order on all accounts. You “CA”, should get beaten like that wrongly and see if you’d like people condoning his behavior.

  11. To Toi:
I agree with most of your comment. We stil need to understand how come he refused to show his license. This man has a large family. A responsible father and husband should talk to a police officer like a Mentsch
Even though you may have many complaints about that officer. Mashiach did not come yet. That Frum man does not own Eretz Yisroel. I have noticed that some people in Eretz Yisroel act in a manner as if they own the country. Some of them act as if Mashiach came already.

  12. he is putting his children in danger. nothing more must be said. smoke if you like; go put your own life in danger. but please don’t put innocent children at risk.

  13. Excuse me all you stupid Americans. The police here a sickos. He did not pose any threat to the cop, , the choke hold was uncalled for, and the police here are third world savages. The police take a job like this because they are not smart enough to get a professional job. The cop probably is a druze. In the shoah, this man would have been a kapo. This is the way the zionists deal with us since the beginning of zionism. Americans, grow up. This is sick, sick sick!

  14. Big Bog, Your language, your references and your disregard to others tells me far more about you than you can imagine. I am personally offended by your conclusions which are based on your own opinions and not substantiated by fact. Ignorance of the law does not exempt one from it. Even if you claim the driver was innocent, he still has to respect and cooperate with the local police. That is the Torah way, Not” Each Man doing what they want ” etc.

  15. Big Bob – ‘This is the way the zionists deal with us since the beginning of zionism’. You are a liar and a soneh yisrael.
