(VIDEOS AND PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

An IDF transport vehicle carrying personnel mistakenly entered PA (Palestine Authority) controlled Kalandia on Sunday, resulting in a mayhem and an emergency response by forces who hoped to extricate the vehicle and the personnel unharmed.

“The incident we received was the team was involved in activities along the seamline in the Dahiya area of the Jerusalem envelope area and the second team in the area of Atarot,” said Major Eyal Abbas, commander of the Border Police in the area and first on the scene.

Upon receiving the report, the Border Police force, which was operating in the area, proceeded to the site, and upon their arrival the forces noticed dozens of rioters throwing stones and objects at the vehicle and personnel. There was extensive use of non-lethal weapons to disperse demonstrators and their professional actions resulted in the rescue of the soldiers from the area.

Upon leaving the refugee camp, it became clear that some of the soldiers were lightly injured (according to medical sources) and some of them were transported to receive medical treatment.

A female soldier was treated for light injuries in Shaare Zedek Hospital in the capital. The driver of the vehicle was injured lightly as well but refused transport to a hospital. Two male soldiers were also transported to Shaare Zedek, where they too were treated for their light injuries.
