Terrorist Linked to Death of IDF Soldier in Custody

arrested.jpgIDF forces on January 15, 2008 arrested Ibrahim Salim in Shechem as part of daily ongoing counter-terrorism operations. His interrogation led to information that he and other terrorists took part in the Sept. 18, 2007 gun battle that led to the death of Staff-Sergeant Ben-Tzion Haneman, 21, from Moshav Nov in the Golan Heights.

Sgt. Haneman was killed in an exchange of gunfire with the terrorists in Shechem.

Salim also admitted to his part in the assembly of explosive devices used against soldiers, generally detonated by cellular telephones.

Ongoing IDF activities in Yehuda and Shomron lead to arrests of suspects such as the terrorist mentioned in this article, in addition to providing the GSS (General Security Service/ Shin Bet) with information that in the past has prevented major terror attacks.
