MDA Blames “Human Error” For Billing Widow Of Terror Victim For Ambulance

Miriam Ben-Gal, the widow of Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal HY”D, who was murdered nine months ago in a terror attack at the entrance to the city of Ariel, received a request for payment of NIS 613 for the ambulance that was summoned to the scene and evacuated him to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah.

A bill was mailed to Mrs. Ben-Gal demanding payment of the debt.

Following Channel 7’s inquiry, MDA clarified in response: “This is a human error that occurred in good faith, since in cases of this kind, there is no charge, of course. We apologize to the family for their distress.”

Emunah Kitov, a sister of Miriam said, “My sister received a letter from MDA asking for payment for his evacuation to Beilinson. A bereaved woman, alone at home, in the evening, opens a letter, demanding payment from MDA because they checked, and the HMO does not cover an evacuation that did not end with hospitalization.

  1. I think MDA “tries their luck” and hasn’t learned a lesson

I know someone whose mother was Nifteres in the house some 15 yrs ago

The woman wasn’t hospitalized because she was Niftar…. and Lo and Behold MDA tried to collect money from the family and idi NOT succeed

So I guess they haven’t learned anything
